ABOUT TREMONT HISTORY PROJECT

Tremont History Project’s mission is to research, preserve, and celebrate the rich history of the Tremont community.

We are a dedicated group of amateur historians and volunteers who, for many years, have been working to collect, document and share information, images and recollections of our historic neighborhood.

Many of our members grew up in this South Side neighborhood; others live here currently or reside nearby. All of us share a particular fondness for this special and clearly historic neighborhood. We typically hold several events throughout the year, and have collaborated on several permanent outdoor public art installations in the community. Please explore the Projects and Events page for more information on our current and past work.

Regular meetings of the Tremont History Project are open to all. They generally are held on the third Saturday of each month, 10:30 AM, at the Jefferson Branch of Cleveland Public Library (850 Jefferson Ave.)—with virtual meeting participation available as well.
